Since our start in 2011, Forest Play has become a leader in providing high-quality nature connection programs for children. We know that one of the things that sets us apart are the guides and mentors that work with us.
We are 100% outdoors all the time and we focus on connection - connection to nature, self and others. For children to be happy, resilient, creative and emotionally intelligent, they need to be connected.
To help the children connect, we ourselves need to be connected as leaders. Those who work with us love working with children and are adept at facilitating meaningful nature connection experiences for ages 4 through 12. Our leaders have a strong personal connection to nature that has been built through a lot of personal time adventuring, exploring and playing in nature - whether it is quiet walks in the forest, early morning birding explorations, adventures climbing mountains, canoeing rapids or developing traditional wilderness skills (e.g. wild edibles, shelter building, fire making) or gardening. As Forest Play leaders, we love being outdoors in all types of weather and are constantly curious about the world around us and find great joy and experiencing it with all our senses and sharing our passion with children. We play alongside the children knowing that play is important for adults too. Curiosity and stories drive the experiences we co-create with the children. Our leaders know that nature is our home and our most powerful mentor.
If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you!
